The Gaza Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza has reached 37,551, more than eight months since the conflict began.
In the past 24 hours alone, 101 people have been killed, and 169 others have been injured.
Since the start of the hostilities on October 7, a total of 85,911 individuals have been injured in Gaza.
The ministry noted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with emergency and civil defense teams unable to reach them due to ongoing hostilities.
On the 260th day of the war, our correspondent reported the death of five people due to Israeli airstrikes in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
Israeli helicopters have also been reported to have opened fire on the southern areas of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, located in the southeastern part of Gaza City.
Healthcare sources in Gaza have highlighted a severe shortage of fuel and supplies, particularly in hospitals.
There are increasing cases of malnutrition in northern Gaza, with indicators of famine becoming apparent, especially among children.
The health ministry warned that the looming famine could result in further casualties in the coming period.
The ministry also stated that the Israeli offensive has devastated Gaza’s medical infrastructure. The media office of Hamas in Gaza emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that famine is rapidly approaching in the Gaza and North Governorates. The scarcity of goods is forcing residents to consider eating tree leaves for survival.
Hamas has called on the international community to pressure Israel to open border crossings and allow the entry of humanitarian aid to alleviate the dire situation faced by the people of Gaza.
