The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has issued a statement denying any involvement in the use of a floating dock for the rescue of Israeli hostages from Hamas at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza.

Reports had suggested that forces entered the camp under the guise of humanitarian aid vehicles from the floating dock.

However, CENTCOM clarified in its statement that the floating humanitarian dock, along with its equipment and personnel, was not utilized in the hostage rescue operation in Gaza.

“The Israelis used the area south of the dock to return the hostages to Israel safely,” the statement added.

CENTCOM emphasized that any claims to the contrary are false. The statement further explained, “The temporary dock on the Gaza coast was established to facilitate the transport of much-needed additional life-saving aid to Gaza.”

Palestinian health officials announced that the number of victims from the Israeli occupation forces’ massacre in the Nuseirat camp has risen to 210 people killed and more than 400 wounded.

The operation came days after an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat school run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, which a Gaza hospital said had killed 37 people.

UNRWA condemned Israel for striking a facility it said had been housing 6,000 displaced people.

The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, has “strongly” condemned the Israeli assault on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

“Reports from Gaza of another massacre of civilians are appalling. We condemn this in the strongest terms. The bloodbath must end immediately,” Borrell stated on X.
