The CEO of Egypt’s General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Amr El-Kady, revealed plans for the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum later this year.

In an interview with CNN Arabic during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, El-Kady emphasised that the museum will be the largest of its kind in history, dedicated to showcasing a single civilisation and featuring over 100,000 artifacts.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is set to be a monumental addition to Egypt’s rich cultural landscape. Located near the pyramids of Giza, it promises to offer an unparalleled glimpse into ancient Egyptian civilisation. This significant cultural project aims to draw millions of visitors from around the globe, boosting the country’s tourism sector.

El-Kady also discussed the challenges faced by Egypt’s tourism industry and the measures being taken by the authority to enhance the tourist experience. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, provide better services, and ensure the safety and satisfaction of visitors.

By addressing these challenges, Egypt aims to maintain its position as a top travel destination. The Grand Egyptian Museum is expected to play a pivotal role in this strategy, attracting history enthusiasts, researchers, and tourists eager to explore Egypt’s ancient heritage.

El-Kady’s insights underscore Egypt’s commitment to promoting its historical and cultural treasures. The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum will not only showcase Egypt’s glorious past but also contribute significantly to its present and future as a premier tourist destination.
