The Israeli-occupying army announced on Sunday that it does not recognize any US sanctions on its military units, stating that if a decision is made in this regard, it will be reviewed.

The occupation army added that the military unit the United States intends to impose sanctions on is currently participating in military operations in the Gaza Strip.

According to American sources cited by the Axios news site yesterday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to announce sanctions against the “Netzah Yehuda” Battalion, part of the Israeli occupying army, within days due to human rights violations in the occupied West Bank.

The sources indicated that the expected sanctions would prevent the battalion and its members from receiving any form of U.S. military aid or training.

Axios explained that this would be the first time the United States imposed sanctions on an Israeli military unit.

The relationship between the United States and Israel is historically strong, characterized by significant military and economic cooperation.

However, tensions occasionally arise over issues such as Israeli settlements in the occupied territories and human rights violations.

The imposition of sanctions on an Israeli military unit by the United States marks a significant development in their relationship and could have broader implications for regional dynamics in the Middle East.
