Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi informed his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, that Tehran does not seek any escalation in the Middle East.

President Raisi emphasized that Iran’s actions have been “coercive and limited by nature,” and stressed that Iran is not pursuing further escalation.

During the discussion, the two leaders reviewed the tense situation in the Middle East, agreeing that the unresolved Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains the root cause of ongoing regional tensions.

The Kremlin reaffirmed the steadfast commitment of Russia and Iran to an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, aimed at alleviating the suffering of Palestinians and setting the stage for a political and diplomatic resolution to the crisis.

President Putin expressed hope that both sides will exercise restraint and avoid triggering a new wave of conflict that could have disastrous consequences for the entire Middle East.

The leaders also called for continued development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Iran across various sectors, including joint infrastructure projects that are mutually beneficial.

Additionally, President Putin extended congratulations to the leadership and people of Iran on the recent celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
