At least four countries, including Israel, acknowledged their role in thwarting an Iranian attack on Israel by intercepting Iranian missiles and drones Saturday night.
The involved countries are the United States, France, Britain, and Jordan, through whose airspace dozens of drones passed.
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) confirmed that American forces in the Middle East intercepted dozens of missiles and drones launched from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
According to informed US officials speaking to CNN, US forces intercepted over 70 single-direction attack drones and at least 3 ballistic missiles during the Iranian attack on Israel.
One official stated that naval vessels intercepted ballistic missiles in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
The spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces stated today that France was among the countries participating in defending against the Iranian attack on Israel during the night.
He added that France has highly advanced technology, aircraft, and radar systems, and he knows they were contributing by conducting patrols in the airspace, indicating that he did not have precise details on whether French aircraft had shot down any of the missiles launched by Iran.
The United Kingdom “shot down” several drones launched by Tehran during its attack on Israel Saturday night, according to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Sunday.
Sunak confirmed today that Britain intercepted Iranian drones during the attack on Israel.
Sunak said that the Royal Air Force shot down several Iranian drones during the Iranian attack on Israel.
He added that he confirmed that their aircraft shot down several Iranian attack drones, confirming reports that the UK assisted Israel and other allies in intercepting hundreds of drones and missiles launched by Iran.
Regional security sources said the Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down dozens of Iranian drones that violated the kingdom’s airspace and were heading towards Israel.
They also stated that the army is on high alert and radar systems are monitoring any activity of drones coming from Iraq and Syria.
Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh said that the Jordanian forces intercepted some airborne objects that entered our airspace last night.
Meanwhile, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that they will continue to take the necessary steps to protect Jordan’s security and sovereignty and will not allow anyone to jeopardize their security.
Safadi added that stopping the dangerous escalation in the region is contingent on ending the war in Gaza and beginning to implement a plan to end the occupation and achieve peace.
