Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi received a phone call from Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström, during which they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and avenues for enhancing it, along with relevant agreements.
They agreed to organize regular political consultations between the two foreign ministries.
The two sides exchanged views on various regional challenges and issues, notably concerning the Palestinian cause and the Ukrainian crisis.
They emphasized the importance of dialogue among all parties, addressing root causes, and dealing earnestly with all involved parties, as reported by the Oman News Agency.
Oman and Sweden have maintained diplomatic relations since 1974. The two countries have engaged in cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, and education.
Sweden is known for its expertise in innovation and sustainable development, areas where Oman seeks to expand its partnerships.
Additionally, both nations have demonstrated a commitment to multilateralism and international dialogue, aligning their diplomatic efforts on numerous global issues, such as climate change and peacebuilding initiatives.
