Hamas Denies Receiving International Ceasefire Proposal for Gaza

Hamas has refuted claims made by a news channel about receiving an international offer for an extended ceasefire in Gaza. The movement emphasized, “There is no truth to what was reported by a news channel attributed to a ‘senior source within Hamas’ about the movement receiving an international offer for an extended ceasefire in Gaza, the gradual return of displaced persons, or a delegation heading to Cairo to discuss details.”

Hamas urged media outlets to ensure accuracy and credibility in their reporting and to avoid manipulating the emotions of the people who are currently facing what it described as a Zionist aggression and a genocidal war.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman announced on Tuesday that Doha is working towards achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, not just a short-term truce lasting a few days. Speaking at a press conference in Doha, he stated, “We are not close to reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, but we remain optimistic.”
