The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has stated that the Gaza war has resulted in a higher number of casualties among relief workers and journalists than any other conflict.

This alarming trend underscores the extreme risks faced by those providing humanitarian assistance and reporting from conflict zones, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The statement highlights the perilous conditions under which aid workers and journalists operate, often putting their lives on the line to deliver essential services and information in times of crisis.

The Gaza war’s heavy toll on these individuals calls for urgent international attention and action to ensure their safety and security amidst hostilities.

This situation raises serious concerns about the protection of humanitarian personnel and the press in conflict settings, emphasizing the need for all parties to respect international laws designed to safeguard those who are committed to helping and informing the world during such turbulent times.
