Biden Confirm Israel's Willingness to Halt War During Ramadan

In a recent announcement, US President Joe Biden revealed that Israel is open to a ceasefire in its conflict with Hamas in Gaza during the upcoming Ramadan month. The condition for this temporary halt is the successful negotiation of a deal leading to the release of hostages held by the militant group.

US, Egyptian, and Qatari negotiators are actively working on a framework deal.

The proposed agreement outlines that Hamas would release some of the hostages it currently holds, and in return, there would be a six-week cessation of hostilities, allowing for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

Throughout this temporary pause, negotiations will persist, focusing on securing the release of the remaining hostages.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office indicated that the military had presented an operational plan for a potential ground offensive into Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost town along the border with Egypt.

This town, currently home to 1.4 million Palestinians seeking refuge, has become a focal point of global concern.

Israel’s allies have issued warnings, emphasizing the need to protect civilians during the ongoing conflict with Hamas.
