The Israeli military has outlined a strategy to the War Cabinet for the evacuation of residents from conflict zones in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office on Monday, which did not specify the relocation methods or destinations for the displaced civilians.

The Israeli government is on the verge of endorsing a strategy to intensify its campaign against Hamas, targeting the area near the Gaza-Egypt border in Rafah, a region where over 1.2 million of the territory’s 2.3 million inhabitants have sought safety.

Despite potential progress towards a ceasefire and a hostage agreement in Gaza, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant confirmed on Sunday that Israel’s actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon will persist.

Over the past weekend, conflicts erupted across the Gaza Strip between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants, amid accelerating negotiations for a ceasefire that could lead to the release of hostages held by Hamas.

An Egyptian official, representing one of the mediators between Israel and Hamas alongside Qatar, mentioned that the proposed ceasefire agreement might involve the exchange of up to 40 female and elderly hostages for approximately 300 Palestinian detainees, including women, minors, and the elderly.

The Gaza health ministry, controlled by Hamas, reported on Saturday that Israeli assaults in Gaza have resulted in 29,692 fatalities and 69,979 injuries, with two-thirds of the victims being children and women.

Israeli authorities have documented around 1,140 deaths from the Hamas-initiated attacks on October 7, with about 250 individuals taken hostage during the assault. Of these, 132 remain in Gaza, as per Israeli records.
