Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan, said on Wednesday that there will be no political process without an end to the war.

Addressing non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Second Infantry Division in Gedaref State, Burhan said: “How can we make an agreement and peace with someone who does not commit and has a different opinion every day? Therefore, we say there will be no peace until this rebellion ends.”

Burhan saluted the leadership of the armed struggle movements that sensed the danger and united with the rest of the Sudanese people, noting their sincere national positions without hesitation, and clarifying that the armed movements and the regular forces are all united.

Burhan sent a message to the politicians who talk about advocates of war, saying: “The advocates of war are those who carry their weapons and attack the citizens, adding: “The advocates of war are those who look for weapons from outside the country to kill the Sudanese with.”

He stressed in his speech that he told the other party who says no to war and calls for peace to get the rebels out of people’s homes and out of the cities.

He pointed out that the battle now has taken a different character than the past ten months, and it has now become a necessary and obligatory battle, because we went to peace in Jeddah and agreed on many commitments and covenants, but no one implemented them.

During his visit to Gedaref State, the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council inspected the forces stationed in the Faw locality.
