In a renewed bout of aggression, the US and UK launched two airstrikes early Friday morning targeting the Jabbanah area north of Hodeidah city and the Taif area in the al-Durayhimi directorate south of the Red Sea coastal province in Yemen.

Over the past 24 hours, Hodeidah province witnessed a total of 9 airstrikes as part of the US-UK attacks, with 7 strikes hitting the Rass Isa area in the al-Salif directorate. Additionally, two airstrikes were directed at the al-Shabakah area south of the al-Salif port northwest of Hodeidah.

The recent escalation in US-UK attacks against Hodeidah follows statements from Ansar Allah movement leader, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, asserting that attacks by the US and Britain will not diminish the capabilities of Yemeni armed forces. Al-Houthi disclosed that Yemen experienced 86 attacks within the week.

The US Central Command declared on Thursday that it had conducted strikes targeting four explosive-laden unmanned boats and seven mobile anti-ship cruise missiles. These weapons, it stated, were poised for launch against ships in the Red Sea from areas controlled by the Houthi group in Yemen.

Concurrently, a German frigate set sail on Thursday to participate in the European Union mission aimed at defending cargo ships from Houthi attacks. EU foreign ministers are expected to approve the Red Sea mission on February 19, with seven nations offering ships or planes for the mission. The German frigate, Hessen, with approximately 240 sailors, is poised to join the mission upon official approval and subsequent parliamentary endorsement.
