The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the death of 18 individuals and the destruction of 26 targets in airstrikes conducted by American aircraft over a distance of approximately 130 kilometers in Deir ez-Zor province, eastern Syria. The London-based Observatory stated in a statement published on the night of Friday/Saturday: “American aircraft carried out rounds of aerial targeting at locations spanning about 130 kilometers from the city of Deir ez-Zor to the Syrian-Iraqi border, passing through Mayadin.”
The Observatory noted: “During these rounds, 26 significant sites of Iranian militias were targeted. In the city of Mayadin, sites in Al-Tamou neighborhood, Ain Ali base near Rahba Castle, Al-Shibli, Al-Haidariya, and the grain silos were bombed.”
It was mentioned that in Al-Bukamal, near the Syrian-Iraqi border, several locations in Al-Hajana and Al-Hari were targeted, and in the city of Deir ez-Zor, sites of Iranian militias near the former College of Education, the surroundings of the Iranian kitchen, near the radars, Tab Harabish, Huwayjat Sakr, and Ayash warehouses were targeted.
According to the Observatory, the strikes resulted in the death of 18 militia members, in a toll that is not final for those strikes. The American military had launched raids the previous night on over 85 targets in Deir ez-Zor, Mayadin, and Al-Bukamal in Syria and Iraq, in response to a deadly attack by Iran-backed militias, which resulted in the death of three American soldiers in Jordan.
