Egypt has initiated the first phase of the Arab Logistics Trade Route between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, as confirmed by the Egyptian Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, on Sunday.

According to the minister, the comprehensive Arab Logistics Trade Route aims to connect the transportation of goods from Gulf countries to the ports of Europe and the Americas.

It represents a complete coordination between the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the transport ministries of Jordan and Iraq through a strategic partnership with the “Arab Bridge Maritime” company.

The operation of the Arab Trade Route aligns with the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, which aim to transform Egypt into a global hub for trade and logistics.

El-Wazir mentioned that “the Ministry of Transport is implementing an integrated plan for the development and enhancement of multimodal international transportation corridors (land, rail, river, and maritime).”

Within this context, the Taba–El Arish logistic corridor is currently under construction as one of seven integrated international development corridors.

The minister highlighted that Egypt’s achievement in maritime transport and the establishment of logistics routes make the country a global center for trade and logistics.

He pointed out that his ministry has successfully launched the first phase of the Arab Logistics Trade Route between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, with the aim of facilitating the transportation of goods from Arab Gulf states to European and American ports.

The plan involves the transportation of goods by trucks from Iraq and Jordan to the Jordanian port of Aqaba.
