Alexander Lavrentiev, the Russian President’s Special Envoy for Syrian Settlement, stated that the withdrawal of U.S. military units from Iraq will undoubtedly be followed by the pullout of American forces from Syria.

In an interview with the “Newsmaker” program on RT channel, Lavrentiev expressed his belief that it would be impossible for the U.S. side to provide supply, reinforcement, and logistical support to its forces in Syria without the ability to use Iraqi territory.

The Russian Presidential Envoy added, “If U.S. forces are withdrawn from Iraq, it will undoubtedly lead to the withdrawal of these forces from Syria as well, as maintaining logistical services and a military unit in Syria would be impossible without the ability to use Iraqi territory.”

Previously, Alexander Lavrentiev announced that Iraq had informed the Russian side of the United States’ readiness to withdraw its forces from Iraq, signaling a significant shift in U.S. military engagements in the region.
