Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, is slated to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in November.
The head of the Iranian Environmental Organization, Ali Salajegheh, announced that “President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Dubai in November to participate in the COP28 climate summit. He added, “We have serious participation in all international meetings, including online ones, where we present the views of our experts.”
Abdullah bin Zayed, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, affirmed his country’s committed approach in hosting the 28th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP28), stressing total responsibility and awareness.
During the ninth meeting of the Supreme National Committee overseeing conference preparations, bin Zayed stated that his country is keen to adopt an inclusive approach that involves everyone in planning for COP28, aiming to establish a successful, beneficial, and integrated model for the participating delegations, stakeholders, and visitors.
The Emirati minister emphasized his country’s vital role in promoting consensus, achieving international unanimity, and coordinating an urgent, comprehensive response in this crucial decade for climate action.
The conference is anticipated to discuss the progress made in global climate action and necessary steps to transition from the phase of commitments to practical achievements by 2030.
It’s worth noting that COP28 will be held in Expo City, Dubai, from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
