Officials from the United States and Germany announced on Wednesday that Germany is preparing to host the largest aerial exercises in the history of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The US network, ABC News, reported that the “Air Defender 23” exercises, set to begin next week, will involve 10,000 personnel and 250 aircraft from 25 countries. The exercise will simulate the response to an attack on a NATO member state.

The United States alone is scheduled to send 2,000 members of the American National Guard and approximately 100 aircraft to participate in the exercises.

These exercises are aimed at enhancing cooperation between participating countries and demonstrating the strength of the military alliance.
