China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has taken proactive measures by initiating a Level-IV emergency response to address the impending flood threat across nine provincial-level regions.

These regions encompass Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Guizhou, Shaanxi, as well as the southwestern areas of Chongqing and Sichuan. In response to the impending heavy rainfall forecasted for these regions starting from Monday, preparations are underway, including the deployment of response teams to Chongqing and Sichuan.

The weather outlook anticipates not only heavy rainfall but also the possibility of thunderstorms and gales in these areas. Local authorities have been diligently instructed to closely monitor precipitation levels, enhance preparedness for potential natural disasters and flooding incidents in smaller and mid-sized rivers, ensure the security of reservoirs, and promptly address urban waterlogging concerns.

China’s robust response to these weather challenges reflects the nation’s commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and infrastructure during periods of extreme weather events, further emphasizing the importance of effective disaster management and response efforts across the country.
