The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development recently hosted a high-level delegation from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Economy and Planning. The delegation, led by Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Obeid, Assistant Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia, was in Cairo to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation.
The collaboration between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is not new, but recent reports emphasize the depth and strength of this economic partnership. In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Planning highlighted that Saudi Arabian investments in Egypt have surged to an impressive $32 billion. This reaffirms the mutual interest of both nations in broadening trade and investment horizons.
Besides economic discussions, the report shed light on the profound historical and strategic relations binding the two countries. The Saudi delegation expressed keen interest in understanding ‘Egypt Vision 2030’ – Egypt’s roadmap to sustainable development. They are keen on grasping how Egypt plans to execute this vision and align it with strategic national directives.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Ministry of Planning emphasized its responsibility for the fully-integrated electronic system that supports the preparation and tracking of the investment plan. This sophisticated system is now fully operational and serves as the backbone for all planning processes and their respective adjustments.
