A tragic incident took place on Saturday in Turkey as an explosion occurred at a rocket and explosives plant, resulting in the collapse of a building and the loss of all five workers inside, according to an official.

The explosion took place around 8:45 am at the facility owned by the state-owned Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation, located on the outskirts of the capital city, Ankara.

Following the explosion, grey smoke was observed rising from the compound, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

Ambulances and fire trucks hurried to the scene, and video clips of the incident taken from a distance quickly circulated on various social media platforms.

Turkish authorities are likely to investigate the cause of the explosion in order to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
