The Israeli military announced today, Saturday, the death of one of its soldiers, bringing the total death toll to 472 since October 7. Since the start of their ground operation in Gaza on October 27, approximately 140 soldiers have been killed.

According to the military’s statement, the deceased soldier is Sergeant Amit Hodaya Ziv, 19 years old, a fighter in the 71st Battalion, Haparak (188) formation. He was killed by a missile launched from Lebanese territory targeting the Shetula area during a tactical operation.

This escalation reflects the intense and ongoing conflict in the region, with a significant impact on military personnel. The Israeli military’s operations in Gaza, which commenced in late October, have encountered fierce resistance, leading to a high number of casualties among its forces.

The recent surge in cross-border attacks has further heightened tensions in the region. The Israeli military continues to carry out operations in response to threats from neighboring territories, as illustrated by the incident that led to Sergeant Ziv’s death.
