Egyptian authorities rescued 26 Egyptians and foreigners after a fire broke out on a tourist boat they were on during a diving trip near Marsa Alam in the southern Red Sea.
The fire completely engulfed the boat. Meanwhile, the search for three other individuals is still underway.
Local Egyptian media reported that the incident started when authorities received a notification about a fire on a tourist boat named “Hercan”, carrying 29 people, both Egyptians, and foreigners, on a sea diving trip.
Twelve English tourists and 14 Egyptian crew members were rescued, while the search for three missing tourists is still ongoing.
The boat had left on June 6 from Marina Porto Ghalib, with its return planned for Sunday. The rescued tourists and boat crew were transported to the beach of Marsa Shagara village.
All are in good health and have not suffered any harm. The search for the three missing tourists around the boat’s vicinity continues.
