Two people were killed and another injured in an Israeli drone strike early Friday morning in southern Lebanon.
The drone targeted the town of Tayr Harfa, as reported by the German news agency dpa.
In addition to the drone strike, Israeli artillery also shelled the outskirts of the towns of Kfar Shouba and Kfar Hammam in southern Lebanon, according to local media sources including the Hezbollah-affiliated channel Al-Manar.
Lebanon’s National News Agency confirmed the casualties from the Israeli airstrike on Tayr Harfa. The Israeli forces also fired at the town of Aita al-Chaab and bombarded the area around the town of Naqoura and Mount Labouna in southern Lebanon.
Throughout the night and into the morning, Israeli forces launched flares over southern border villages adjacent to the Blue Line, while Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft continued their overflights.
The southern border region of Lebanon has been experiencing an exchange of fire between the Israeli military and Hezbollah since October 8, following Israel’s declaration of war on Gaza in response to Hamas’ attack on Israel and Hezbollah’s subsequent support for Gaza.
