Reports suggest that WhatsApp will soon introduce an AI-powered chatbot.
According to WABetaInfo, a new button will appear in the chat tab at the top of the interface, allowing users to initiate new conversations quickly with AI assistance.
This development signifies WhatsApp’s commitment to advancing its chat features with artificial intelligence capabilities.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, announced the development of AI-powered chatbots in September of last year.
He revealed that the company was experimenting with chatbots for a select group within the United States.
In the experimental version of WhatsApp introduced in September, the chatbot was initially hidden in the contact list. To streamline conversations, a small button was added to the main screen for quick access.
This new button, located above the “New Chat” button in the bottom right corner, features a white square with a multicolored ring.
However, it remains uncertain whether this feature will be available in the global release of the app, and there is no confirmed date for its wider rollout, according to Hindustan Times.
WhatsApp’s integration of AI-powered chatbots is a significant step forward in enhancing user interactions and providing more advanced features within the messaging platform.
While the exact capabilities and functionalities of this AI chatbot are yet to be revealed, it represents a growing trend in the tech industry towards utilizing artificial intelligence to improve user experiences across various applications and services.
