Hours before the kickoff of Euro 2024 in Germany, the French national team faced a sudden health scare as several players exhibited symptoms of a mysterious illness. According to reports from Monte Carlo, the players experienced widespread cold-like symptoms.
Reports indicate that some French players and the coaching staff, led by head coach Didier Deschamps, began feeling unwell on Wednesday evening. They woke up with colds, accompanied by cramps, headaches, and muscle stiffness.
Initial assessments suggest the situation is not alarming, but there is a need for continued monitoring and investigation to determine the virus’s origin and prevent further spread.
This incident is not the first for Les Bleus. During the 2022 World Cup, several players, including Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, and Manchester United’s Raphaël Varane, contracted the flu before their final match against Argentina.
