The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced on Saturday its targeting of the armament and emergency depots of the Israeli army’s “282” Artillery and Precision Missiles Brigade, located northwest of Lake Tiberias. The group stated in a press release that its operatives targeted the armament and emergency stores of the “282” base in Yiftah Eliflit with dozens of Katyusha rockets.
The statement added that this operation was “a response to the Israeli army’s assaults on the southern villages and safe homes, especially in the town of Kafrman, and in support of the resilient Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and in backing their noble resistance.”
Hezbollah had also announced earlier this morning, Saturday, its targeting of the reserve headquarters of the “Northern Corps” of the Israeli army and the reserve base of the Galilee Division and its logistic stores in Amiad with dozens of Katyusha rockets. In a second operation conducted today, Hezbollah destroyed an Israeli Merkava tank on the Roueissat Al-Alam – Zebdine road, setting it ablaze after targeting it with a guided missile.
Conversely, the Israeli army announced it had detected the launch of 55 rockets from Lebanon towards Upper Galilee since this morning, noting that warning sirens have been sounding repeatedly in the north.
Israeli media also reported ongoing attempts to extinguish fires that erupted in the vicinity of Amiad near Tiberias, caused by the rockets launched from Lebanon. This comes as the reciprocal targeting continues in southern Lebanon, between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, with both sides exchanging almost daily cross-border shelling.
However, the intensity of tensions has escalated significantly recently, coinciding with Israeli threats to launch a broad attack on the northern front with Lebanon. There are increasing global concerns about the outbreak of a war between Israel and Hezbollah, which could escalate into a wider regional conflict involving other countries in the region.
