In a recent development, US and UK forces have initiated a fourth series of strikes against targets in Yemen, according to reports from Huthi media on Thursday.
The Iran-backed rebels have declared their commitment to persistently target Israeli ships en route to the occupied Palestinian ports, despite efforts by the American-British coalition to hinder their operations, as stated by a Huthi military official.
Reports confirmed that the latest round of strikes hit various locations in Yemen, including the port city of Hodeida and the city of Taez. This marks the fourth consecutive week of such attacks.
This development follows the recent announcement by the United States that the Huthis have been reclassified as “terrorist” entities due to their actions in the Red Sea. In the previous week, the United States and Britain executed strikes on nearly 30 sites in Yemen, deploying over 150 munitions. Subsequently, US forces targeted a Huthi radar site.
In response to these actions, the Huthis reported on Wednesday that they had launched a drone attack on a ship off the coast of Yemen. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) security agency confirmed that a drone had indeed struck a vessel in the Gulf of Aden. While a Huthi spokesman claimed the targeted ship was American, British maritime risk management company Ambrey identified the vessel as a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier.
