The Camp David summit involving the United States, South Korea, and Japan comes at a pivotal juncture. Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, emphasized during a press conference on Tuesday that this partnership contributes to strengthening collective actions and achieving a shared vision in the Indo-Pacific region.

Elaborating on the approach toward Iran, Blinken noted that the strategy involves pressure, deterrence, and diplomacy, with a united front to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

He also mentioned his communication with families of detained Americans who have been placed under house arrest in Iran.

Japan and South Korea, as close allies of Washington, are pivotal in advancing the trio’s relationships for the betterment of their populations and the global community at large. Blinken expressed support for this joint vision.

Reflecting on the Russian military intervention in Ukraine, which has lasted for a year and a half, the US Secretary of State commended the resilience and valor demonstrated by the Ukrainian people.

He acknowledged their steadfastness and ongoing support for Kyiv’s quest for security.
