The United States owns an extensive diplomatic compound in Lebanon, located approximately 13 kilometers from the center of the capital, Beirut. This sprawling compound was constructed on the site of the current embassy and resembles a city in itself.
Spanning across 43 acres, the complex is situated in the Awkar suburb of Beirut. Its area is roughly two and a half times the size of the land upon which the White House is built and can encompass over 21 soccer fields.
