UNRWA Calls for Urgent Increase in Gaza Aid

Adnan Abu Hasna, the spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), has reported severe shortages in humanitarian aid for Gaza, stating that the supplies currently entering the territory cover a mere 8% of the Palestinian population’s needs.

During a phone interview with journalist Iman El-Hossary on her show “Masaa DMC” aired on the DMC channel, Abu Hasna highlighted the dire situation, with thousands in Gaza facing hunger.

Over the course of seven discontinuous days, UNRWA managed to deliver seven convoys to the northern part of the Gaza Strip. However, Abu Hasna revealed a grim incident where a group of hungry individuals awaiting humanitarian aid were bombed by Israeli forces.

He further commented on the unhelpful attempts by Israel to facilitate aid entry, pointing out the unprecedented levels of desperation among Palestinians, some of whom have been forced to consume animal feed to survive.

Abu Hasna warned that if the Israeli bombings do not cease, the Palestinians in Gaza face the risk of death from starvation and disease.

The situation in Gaza has reached a critical point, as international organizations struggle to provide sufficient aid amidst ongoing conflict.

The UNRWA’s report underscores the urgent need for increased humanitarian assistance to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
