Tess Ingram, spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), expressed deep concern over the escalating military operations in Lebanon, which have led to a significant increase in displacement.

During an interview with journalist Dalia Abu Amira on Cairo News Channel, Ingram highlighted the dire situation resulting from the conflict.

“The war has left behind a large number of displaced persons, disabled individuals, and children who lack sufficient resources,” Ingram stated.

She continued by noting the ongoing communication with Lebanese authorities and revealed that nearly a million people have been displaced within Lebanon due to the conflict.

UNICEF estimates that around 300,000 children are currently without shelter, struggling with a lack of basic necessities and in urgent need of assistance. Ingram emphasized the organization’s commitment to helping these children, with rapid implementation of evacuation operations underway.
