After Russia expressed its willingness to enter negotiations to find a solution and halt the war in Ukraine, the response from Kyiv did not take long.
Yevhen Mykytenko, Advisor to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, unveiled his country’s warm reception to all peaceful peace initiatives. He made these comments during a statement for “Al Arabiya/Al Hadath” on Sunday, emphasizing Kyiv’s readiness to embrace diplomatic dialogues aimed at achieving peace.
Anticipated Peace Talks in Jeddah
Mykytenko further noted that Kyiv expects, within the next two days, several countries to confirm their participation in the Jeddah peace talks. He expressed hope for a unified perspective in the upcoming negotiations and shared his happiness over the continuous initiatives for peace by their friends in Saudi Arabia.
These developments come as Saudi Arabia prepares to host talks concerning Ukraine, with Kyiv and major Western and developing nations set to participate. Countries such as India and Brazil are among those mentioned, with the negotiations scheduled for the beginning of August, according to diplomats involved in the discussions.
As we move towards this significant diplomatic event, all eyes will be on Jeddah, looking for signs of potential reconciliation and peace-building efforts to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine. The global community will be eagerly anticipating whether these negotiations can pave the way for a sustainable resolution, solidifying the importance of peaceful dialogue in resolving international conflicts.
