The UK Defense Secretary, Grant Shapps, announced that a Royal Navy warship effectively thwarted a drone attack carried out by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea.
Shapps emphasized the UK’s resilience in the face of the assault by the Iran-backed rebel group, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting innocent lives and ensuring freedom of navigation.
Fortunately, none of the crew members on the HMS Diamond were injured during the attack, and the ship emerged from the encounter undamaged, according to the Ministry of Defence.
The ship’s missile defense system played a crucial role in intercepting and neutralizing the drone, preventing any harm to the vessel.
