In line with directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, urgent humanitarian aid was dispatched to Afghanistan. This initiative comes as a response to the earthquake that devastated the Herat province in the west, resulting in numerous casualties, predominantly women and children.
Destroyed villages and residents, primarily children and women, sleeping on the roads paint a stark picture of the crisis. Several relief aircrafts left the UAE on Friday, laden with substantial amounts of food, medical supplies, and other vital aids, directed to the Afghan people. This effort aims to bridge the gap in the needs of those affected by the quake.
Various Emirati relief institutions participated, ensuring that all essential needs are provided to support the earthquake victims in Afghanistan. The initiative is also dedicated to understanding their humanitarian needs promptly, while keeping track of their living conditions, health, and mental state through this crisis.
This aid symbolizes the UAE’s humanitarian role in assisting victims and disaster-stricken individuals worldwide, providing assistance and responding to urgent humanitarian issues.
