Today, the Tunisian Embassy in Lebanon announced the scheduling of a special evacuation flight for Tunisian citizens residing in Lebanon who wish to return voluntarily to Tunisia.
The flight is set to take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, with a capacity to accommodate 260 passengers.
The embassy reported receiving 404 reservation requests for this flight.
Priority for seats will be given based on security, health, and humanitarian considerations, including the following criteria: students, displaced Tunisians in vulnerable situations, Tunisian nationals remaining in high-risk areas, particularly in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and several regions in the Bekaa Valley, Tunisians without family support, and individuals with specific health needs.
The embassy emphasized its commitment to thoroughly review all requests received and will announce the necessary procedures for the flight in due course.
Lebanon has faced ongoing political and economic turmoil, compounded by regional conflicts, making the situation precarious for many residents, including foreign nationals. The Tunisian government has been proactive in facilitating the safe return of its citizens amid these challenges.
