In a meeting held on Wednesday, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, engaged in discussions with Oman’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Qais bin Muhammad al-Youssef. The talks aimed to enhance bilateral trade and prioritize collaboration in the realm of investment.

The discussions unfolded during the visit of the Tunisian Foreign Minister to the Sultanate of Oman, where he led his country’s delegation participating in the 16th session of the Tunisian-Omani Joint Committee, as outlined in a press release from the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides underscored the robust fraternal ties between Tunisia and Oman, emphasizing the need to bolster various dimensions of their bilateral cooperation.

Minister Ammar highlighted the importance of activating the proposal for establishing a joint Tunisian-Omani investment fund. Additionally, he advocated for increased engagements between private-sector economic stakeholders to explore partnership opportunities in promising sectors.

In response, the Omani Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion expressed Oman’s readiness to explore all avenues for advancing cooperation in areas such as industry, trade, investment, and renewable and clean energies, with a particular focus on green hydrogen.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a joint working group comprising experts and specialists in the aforementioned fields. This group will be tasked with overcoming challenges, fostering bilateral trade development, and identifying opportunities available in both countries. The collaborative efforts aim to strengthen economic ties and create a conducive environment for mutually beneficial partnerships.
