Former US President Donald Trump has voiced his concerns regarding Israel’s handling of the public relations aspect of the conflict in Gaza, asserting that the country is suffering in the media sphere due to the images emerging from the region.

In an interview aired on The Hugh Hewitt Show on Thursday, Trump emphasized the detrimental impact of footage depicting buildings collapsing, suggesting it’s contributing to Israel’s struggle in what he referred to as the “PR war.”

Trump’s remarks come amidst the bloodiest-ever Gaza war, which was triggered by Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7.

The attack resulted in the deaths of 1,170 Israelis and foreigners, predominantly civilians, according to figures provided by Israeli authorities.

Palestinian militants also took around 250 hostages, with approximately 130 still held in Gaza, including 34 presumed deceased.

Israel’s response to the attack has led to significant casualties, with at least 33,037 people reported killed according to Gaza’s health ministry, raising concerns of a humanitarian crisis.

Trump urged for a swift resolution to the conflict, emphasizing the importance of returning to normalcy and achieving a decisive victory.

The situation has garnered international attention and criticism, with Israel facing mounting pressure from various quarters.

US President Joe Biden recently cautioned Israel of a potential shift in policy towards the conflict, reflecting growing frustration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and heightened domestic pressures in an election year.
