Thousands Evacuated as Volcano Erupts in Philippines

The Mayon volcano, the most active volcano in the Philippines, erupted, emitting ash and rocks and prompting the evacuation of thousands of people from their homes.

As a result of the eruption, schools and offices in Albay province, located in southern Luzon, were temporarily suspended.

The affected residents have been relocated to classrooms and churches as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.

Mayon volcano is renowned for its symmetrical cone shape and has a history of regular volcanic activity
