Syrian air defence units successfully intercepted and repelled Israeli missiles in the vicinity of Daraa in southern Syria, according to a report by the Sputnik news agency on Sunday.
The Syrian military’s air defence system effectively countered the Israeli aggression, intercepting and destroying some of the missiles aimed at a radar station between Izraa city and Naamer settlement in the northern part of Daraa province.
While the attacks resulted in only material damage, they underscore the ongoing pattern of Israeli military incursions into Syrian territory, including residential areas.
The Damascus government has consistently appealed to UN officials for measures to halt Israeli military aggression against Syria.
Despite these appeals, the United Nations and the Security Council have yet to take concrete steps to address the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian soil.
