Syrians began flocking to polling stations in provinces as the ballots opened for casting votes in the fourth legislative term elections in Syria.
According to the Syrian News Agency “SANA”, there are 1516 candidates competing in the sector A 409 and in sector B 1107, vying for 250 seats in the People’s Council, with 8151 polling centers set up across all provinces.
In Deir ez-Zor, voters converged on the electoral centers in the province to choose 14 members—8 from category A and 6 from category B—who represent the province among 43 candidates for the new council membership, with 23 candidates in category A and 20 in category B.
The head of the Sub-Judicial Electoral Committee in Syria, Judge Hussein Al-Zgheer, stated that there are 275 electoral centers in the province, including a center designated for the residents of Raqqa and another for the residents of Quneitra.
In the districts of Aleppo and its countryside, according to the head of the Sub-Judicial Committee of Aleppo city, Judge Advisor Hassan Naser, there are 1105 polling centers, with 450 centers in the city itself. Ballot boxes were distributed across all electoral centers and equipped with all necessary supplies for the electoral process
