Switzerland’s President Alan Persieh announced his arrival in Kyiv on Saturday, November 25, 2023, to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart and participate in an international summit on food security.

Ukraine is hosting an international summit to garner support for its efforts to export grains despite the ongoing Russian blockade of the Black Sea, a key export route for the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Saturday that Russia had launched over 70 drones, witnessed by Ukraine, during the night, with most of them being successfully intercepted and shot down.

Zelensky described the attack, which occurred in the early hours of a day that Ukraine commemorates the Holodomor famine that claimed the lives of millions of Ukrainians in 1932 and 1933, as an act of “deliberate terrorism.”

A witness reported a significant drone attack striking various areas in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that debris from the downed drones had damaged residences and other buildings, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

Klitschko also reported on Telegram that debris from an intercepted drone had caused a fire in a daycare center.

The international summit on food security is of significant importance to Ukraine, which faces challenges in exporting its grain due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region.
