Renewed clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) around the Armored Corps and Ammunition Corps camps in southern Khartoum for the fifth consecutive day, according to reports.
Sudanese army sources indicated that the RSF attacked the Armored Corps headquarters with heavy machinery, but the army successfully repelled the assault and destroyed several RSF vehicles.
Meanwhile, the RSF issued a statement claiming that the army targeted the Bahri power station, causing a fire to break out yesterday.
In a related development, The Sudanese Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Taqaddum) announced that Sudanese forces have agreed to meet for consultations on ways to halt the ongoing conflict.
This comes after Sudanese sources informed Sky News Arabia that the African Union has formed a committee, led by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, to arrange a meeting between the army and the RSF.
According to the sources, Museveni has received the green light from both parties for the meeting to take place soon.
