Sudan’s Foreign Minister Hussein Awad discussed enhancing bilateral relations with both Yemen’s Foreign Minister and Expatriates Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, and Senegalese Foreign Minister of and Expatriates Yacine Fall, along with regional situations.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the Foreign Minister addressed the Yemeni and Senegalese counterparts during their meeting today, Saturday, on the sidelines of the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit Conference of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, scheduled to take place in the Gambian capital, Banjul.
He provided updates on the situation in Sudan.
He also discussed current regional and international situations and topics of mutual interest.
Sudan, Yemen, and Senegal share common interests in regional stability, economic development, and diplomatic cooperation. Sudan has been undergoing a transitional period since the overthrow of former President Omar al-Bashir in April 2019, aiming to transition to civilian rule.
Yemen has been grappling with a protracted civil war, exacerbated by regional rivalries, leading to a humanitarian crisis. Senegal, located in West Africa, has been a stable democracy with a growing economy, focusing on regional integration and combating terrorism.
Strengthening bilateral relations among these countries can foster mutual cooperation in various fields, including trade, security, and cultural exchange, contributing to regional stability and development.
