Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the Saudi Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, announced that Saudi Arabia has extended over $3 billion in support to Sudan.
This aid includes $132 million in humanitarian assistance distributed across various regions and sectors in need.
Speaking at a meeting on the costs of inaction in Sudan, Al-Rabeeah emphasized that the King Salman Center’s efforts prior to the outbreak of the crisis in April 2023 were focused on implementing more sustainable interventions.
However, he noted that the deteriorating humanitarian conditions caused by the ongoing conflict have undermined those gains.
Saudi Arabia’s commitment highlights its role in addressing humanitarian challenges in the region, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people amid ongoing turmoil.
