Russian state-run media reported on Tuesday that Russia claimed to have repelled Kyiv’s anticipated counteroffensive in eastern Ukraine after three days of intense fighting.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that the Ukrainian regime had launched the offensive across various points along the frontlines but was ultimately thwarted.
Shoigu praised Russian soldiers and officers for their courage and heroism while alleging significant casualties on the Ukrainian side.
He reported that Ukraine had lost 3,715 servicemen, 52 tanks, 207 armored vehicles, 134 cars, five planes, and two helicopters during the three days of battle.
Shoigu also accused Kyiv of being responsible for the destruction of the strategic Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine on Tuesday. He claimed that Kyiv’s failed offensive had prompted them to transfer units from Kherson to the area of the offensive, thereby weakening their positions in Kherson.
