Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov stated that Russia supports the electoral process and the formation of a unified government in Libya.

Bogdanov emphasized in media statements that elections represent an effective solution to the situation in Libya, and Russia supports the holding of comprehensive presidential, parliamentary, and national elections in the country with the participation of all political forces.

Regarding reports about Russia forming what is known as the African Corps on the continent, a Russian Deputy Foreign Minister responded that these reports do not align with reality.

He confirmed that the presence of such a force requires military agreements that need approval from the relevant authorities in Russia and African countries, adding that this has not happened.
