Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, stated Friday that Russian air forces conducted airstrikes on a terrorist base in Syria’s Idlib province.

According to Kulit, Russian airstrikes targeted a terrorist base near the town of Kassiyeh in Idlib province, resulting in significant material damage and casualties among the militants.

Kulit further reported four artillery attacks during the day on government positions from what is referred to as the “Nusra Front” (banned in Russia) in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

He also mentioned three violations of the protocols for preventing conflicts signed on December 9, 2019, related to drone flights conducted by US-led coalition aircraft in Syria over the past 24 hours.

In this regard, Kulit noted that “two A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft, along with a MQ-1C multi-mission unmanned aerial vehicle, violated Syrian airspace in the Tanf area, through which international air routes pass, five times during the day.”
