The Russian Cabinet announced today, Saturday, the imposition of a temporary ban on the export of rice until the end of the current year, to maintain the stability of the domestic market. The Cabinet said in a statement on its channel on the “Telegram” platform: “The government has imposed a temporary ban on the export of rice grains, and the restrictions will be in effect until December 31, 2023. The decision was taken to maintain stability in the domestic market”.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko announced that the Russian Cabinet will soon refer a draft decree on ruble settlements for the export of agricultural products to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Abramchenko told reporters: “The government has already discussed the draft decree of the Russian president regarding special procedures for opening accounts for foreign buyers of Russian agricultural products in authorized banks”.
She added, saying: “It will be sent to the head of state for consideration in the near future. The state’s legal administration has previously reviewed and supported this document.”
The document states the possibility of opening special accounts in rubles and “Z” type currencies (special accounts) to accept buyers of Russian agricultural products, and the government will determine the list of these products.
