The official portal of the Mayor and Government of Russia announced the deployment of neural networks for the first time in identifying signs of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) diseases through X-ray imaging. This marks a significant advancement in Moscow’s healthcare technology.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova, stated, “For the first time in Moscow, artificial intelligence has learned to identify signs of ENT diseases in patients’ X-ray images.

This initiative represents the 28th clinical area where algorithms can now recognize diseases.”

Rakova further explained that the initial results of the AI processing could be available within two to three minutes. The neural network significantly eases the workload of physicians and saves valuable time that can be spent on patient care.

This intelligent algorithm is capable of detecting serious conditions such as sinusitis based on sinus X-ray results, a common test for diagnosing sinus diseases. This innovation is expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in Moscow’s healthcare system.

The integration of AI into medical diagnostics is seen as a major step forward, potentially transforming how diseases are detected and treated in the Russian capital.

Lillian Wang, an official responsible for psychological matters in AI at OpenAI, ignited a flurry of criticism after hinting at the potential capabilities of ChatGPT in psychological assistance.

Her remarks have stirred the pot in the ongoing discourse regarding the efficacy and ethical considerations of employing AI in addressing mental health concerns.

In late September, Wang shared on the X service, “I just had a very emotional personal conversation with ChatGPT via voice, discussing stress and the balance between work and life.”
